  3.   no hyaline (glassy, transparent) spots; male has a costal fold containing yellow scent scales

Life history facts

egg: laid singly on young leaves, leaf buds of host plant

larva:  feed on leaves, rest in leaf shelters; full-grown hibernate


adult:  males perch on hilltops, in clearings thruout day, await receptive fems.; patrol host plants when high density of males
