Habitat
 

S. a. clemencei resides in upper elevation ridge-top pine-oak savanna in Monterey County.  It’s host plant, Viola purpurea, commonly called Goosefoot Violet, Pine Violet, or Mountain Violet, grows along meadow edges often adjacent to Coast Live Oak.
