Clemence’s Unsilvered Fritillary   S. a. clemencei

 

Male:

Upperside - reddish-orange with black markings, veins heavily edged black; smaller than female

Underside - gray to yellowish-tan, fresh specimens with a light purplish sheen; spots paler, unsilvered

Female:

Upperside - pale buff with black markings, veins NOT heavily edged black; wing margins black, FW with submarginal pale spots; larger than male

Underside - pattern similar to male, but paler, “ghost-like”
